Welcome, m’lord or m’lady, to my stately internet home. I’ve self-indulgently decided to create a personal website for two primary reasons:

The Social Media/Algorithmic/AI stew that I’ve been chowing down on is destroying my brain capacity and I want to try and break the encirclement by thinking out loud about things that I’m interested in. I will include, in no particular order: Sport, Research, Art, Food, my Photos and pretty much anything else that I like.

I’ve recently left employment to focus full time on my PhD. The academic research writing orthodoxy revolves around small groups of researchers who are interested in the same niche topic writing in ever more complicated terms about things which they ought to be making simple. Its basically a circle jerk, with participants becoming progressively more aroused as their charts get more complex and harder to interpret. Against that backdrop, I thought it would be a useful exercise to write about my research in simple terms to help with my own understanding and figure out how best communicate what I’ve found out.
I’ll try not make the posts too long, and I’ll never use AI for the words (I can’t promise not using it for help with my research, general messing about, and the upkeep of the website). I hope you like it here!
